Digital Skills in Tourism
The Malta Business Bureau is collaborating with a number of European organisations on an EU-funded project, DIGITOUR, to contribute to the digital upskilling of the local tourism sector.
Digital skills may be defined as “a range of abilities to use digital devices, communication applications, and networks to access and manage information” (UNESCO, 2018). A revival of the tourism industry post COVID-19 will only be possible if the industry continues to build on its digital skills and implement digital solutions for a sustainable future, especially as the EU pushes towards the green and digital transformation.
The ultimate aim of this project is to invest in the digital skills of the tourism sector, most particularly SMEs, so that Malta’s most important sector thrives. Against this background, we would like your opinions and input regarding the current and future digital skills of Malta’s tourism sector.
