The EU’s LIFE financial instrument provides a funding opportunity for private commercial entities with Circular Economy and Eco-Innovation operations.

Interest in supporting Close-to-Market projects is high. SMEs and large companies are both eligible for participation in the scheme, which aims at supporting the testing and demonstration of :

• new products
• technologies
• production processes

An advantage is that commercialisation and industrialisation of the project focus can already start during the project’s lifespan.

Some examples of potential sectors that would be of interest within the LIFE financial objectives include all commercial entities that deal with the production and/or processing/recycling of environmental resources of various types ( e.g. aluminium, other metals, gypsum, WEEE, fuels, glass, ceramics, plastics, bioplastics, fibreglass, solid water, paper, waste-to-energy, hazardous waste, chemicals, etc. ) recyclers, corporate social responsibility, biogas, cleantech, etc.
