Launching Event on Trade and Business Opportunities in Jordan

Launching Event on Trade and Business Opportunities in Jordan

The European Union and the Kingdom of Jordan are pleased to invite you to a joint conference on the enhanced trade, business and investment opportunities in Jordan being held on 3rd May 2017 in Brussels.

The EU and Jordan have recently relaxed their Rules of Origin Agreement to increase the number of Jordanian products granted tariff-free market access into the EU. This relaxation covers 52 industrial product categories including textiles & garments, engineering & electrical products, chemical products, plastic products and furniture & wooden products.

As recently reconfirmed at a Brussels conference on the Future of Syria and the region of 5th April 2017 and in line with the commitments taken by the EU and Jordan, this initiative intends to support Jordan in light of the Syrian refugee crisis. It complements Jordan’s own efforts to increase economic activity and create sustainable jobs for both Jordanians and Syrian refugees hosted in Jordan.

This Conference brings together high profile actors from the European Commission and the Kingdom of Jordan to explain the revised Rules of Origin Agreement, the investment climate in Jordan and business opportunities in industrial sectors. There will also be an interactive session to discuss the positive opportunities for EU trade, business and investment.

Registration for the event closes on 2nd May. Participation in the Conference is free of charge.
