Focusing on the future of the EU Single Market, the Malta Business Bureau is collaborating with the European Commission Representation in Malta to host a business seminar on the way the Single Market is evolving, and about our aspirations in its regard.
This is particularly significant given that we are currently living in a period where Member States often undertake more protectionist positions when negotiating legislation, which can ultimately disrupt the functioning of the Single Market. This seems to be leading to an inadvertent sentiment of sheer carelessness towards the project of the Single Market, and indeed, the EU as a whole.
The event is bringing together two international speakers to explore the added value of the Single Market, the commitment towards it, and whether it is moving in the right direction: Kamil Kiljanski, Chief Economist at European Commission DG GROW, and Erwan Bertrand, Senior Policy Adviser at Eurochambres.
Hon. Dr Chris Cardona, Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Businesses will also be addressing the event.
The business seminar will be held on 23 November, at The Exchange Buildings, Valletta (09:30hrs – 12:00hrs).
