It is fair to say that the creation and functioning of the Single Market is probably one of the, if not the, greatest achievement of the European Union. The implementation of the four freedoms across such a diverse market of 500 million people is unique and should be celebrated.
Yet, we are currently living in a period of time where the very essence of the Single Market is being unfortunately challenged from all fronts. This seems to be leading to an inadvertent sentiment of sheer carelessness towards the project of the Single Market, and indeed, the EU as a whole.
The Malta Business Bureau, in collaboration with the European Commission Representation in Malta, shall be hosting a business seminar on 23 November at the Exchange Buildings in Valletta, which shall focus on the future of the Single Market, how we see it evolving, and how it should be evolving. A panel of experts and high-profile speakers shall explore the added value of the Single Market, the legislators’ commitment towards it, and whether it is moving in the right direction from a political perspective.
Hon. Dr Chris Cardona, Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Businesses, Mr Kamil Kiljanski, Chief Economist at European Commisson DG GROW, and Mr Erwan Bertrand, Senior Policy Adviser at Eurochambres will all be addressing the event.
For registration, send an email to email@example.com or call on +356 2125 1719.
We look forward to hearing your opinion on where you believe the Single Market should be headed!
